Little Jane LJ 10-CM + Colored Gigbag

I bought the Little Jane sight unseen because I'd tried a Furch Pioneer (same cedar/ mahogany wood combo) and bought it on spot. I've played all the smaller acoustics from Martin and Taylor, but this one is by far the best sounding- and that's before you even factor in the way it just comes apart and can be taken safely on your back for flights. I didn't want to go through the anxiety of checking in my instrument again, and this is the only solution to be able to take it on as hand luggage 100% of the time in every airline, every country.

Now regarding sound quality and playability: it's brilliant. I have to say I do think my Pioneer is more resonant and 'fuller', but not by a huge margin. The 24.2' scale is ideal for someone like me (a woman with smallish hands), and I'm a huge fan of the booster sound port on both my Furch guitars- they absolutely make a difference for the player. Calling this a 'travel guitar' is a bit reductive; it outperforms many full sized ones. It arrived pretty much perfectly set up, just like the advertising videos. I assembled it in under 2 mins, tuned it up, and it was ready to go- fantastic. This wasn't a surprise though- my Pioneer also was perfectly set up out of the box.

The backpack is nice, too, though if you're travelling bear in mind it can't fit a laptop- so make sure you account for a 2nd personal item/ hand baggage. On the whole: sounds great, plays very well, smells awesome, fulfils its stated function with minimal to no compromise. I pick this up and play all the time, even when stuck in the house. I'm very, very curious about the Violet and Blue series now- I just wish Furch shipped internationally for those as well.

I bought the Little Jane a year ago, and keep it handy in living room for those moments I need to come up with a tune. I have a Taylor 810e and that is my fav full size, but the Little Jane is a close tie! I travel with it and I'm amazed at how well it stays in tune. The sound that comes out from a little guitar is amazing! I highly recommend!!

I was really looking forward to my LJ 10-CM.
I took a risk since there were no LJ near me for me to play it before purchasing, so I had to go solely on reviews.
While there were many things that were right about the guitar, there were also several disappointing things that people should know about before purchasing.
Honestly, I would return it if I could, but after a few times playing it, it got scratches already so I knew I had no choice.
Pros:
It is compact as advertised, and does fit well for traveling by plane.
The fretboard and wood all are beautiful and nice and well made.
It is not as head heavy as I feared.
Cons:
Sound is muddy and shallow. This is a huge con. I do understand cedars and small body as the LJ, but it was a bit too muddy and shallow for my taste. The reviews made it seem like the sound was 5/5 but imo, it is still lacking a bit. Not terrible, but I wouldn't say it was what I was expecting from the YouTube review videos. The muddy sound makes it very difficult to strum the guitar due to the soft cedar wood.
Also due to the soft cedar wood, scratches and dents are REALLY easy to make. I played it for 20 minutes when I first got it, and I don't even know how or where, but I found a pretty noticeable scratch on the front of the guitar. Be warned.
Sound hole is also smaller than I expected so many pickups will not fit. Again be warned, make sure you measure the diameter beforehand if you are planning to install a sound hall pickup.

Because it is almost a 2000 dollar guitar, I don't think I'm being unfair when I am judging a bit heavily based on sound. If it was 1500, I don't think I would have given it a 3/5 star. But when it's 1800+ , and then they ask for 2100+ for rosewood, I do not think it is worth that much money.

This is my third travel guitar and it’s the only one that does what it says on the tin. It’s easy to carry onto airplanes and once you get used to its size it plays very well. The tone is sufficient and it’s volume is remarkably loud. I find myself picking it up more and more at home.

I was visiting London for a week and a half and decided not to take a guitar (though I had travel-friendly models, but didn't want the extra baggage). About a day or two in, I regretted it... hard. I had recently seen a Furch Little Jane review on YouTube and wondered if I could find one in town to play for fun (I told myself I didn't need another guitar). guitarguitar in Camden (shout out!) had one floor model: the Cedar / Mahogany. It took 1 strum. Furch's voicing isn't advertising lingo. It's stunning. And it definitely had to come home with me. I own (far too) many guitars and this sweet little instrument is hands down the most stunning (especially for its size) and best playing (action is stellar!) guitar I now own. And that's up against a number of high quality instruments that also sound and play phenomenally. I usually like guitars with a little more color (like bursts) or other appointments (though the locking tuners readily win me over too), but at the end of the day, sound is everything. And, well, I don't say this lightly: she's my new favorite.
