I bought the Little Jane sight unseen because I'd tried a Furch Pioneer (same cedar/ mahogany wood combo) and bought it on spot. I've played all the smaller acoustics from Martin and Taylor, but this one is by far the best sounding- and that's before you even factor in the way it just comes apart and can be taken safely on your back for flights. I didn't want to go through the anxiety of checking in my instrument again, and this is the only solution to be able to take it on as hand luggage 100% of the time in every airline, every country.
Now regarding sound quality and playability: it's brilliant. I have to say I do think my Pioneer is more resonant and 'fuller', but not by a huge margin. The 24.2' scale is ideal for someone like me (a woman with smallish hands), and I'm a huge fan of the booster sound port on both my Furch guitars- they absolutely make a difference for the player. Calling this a 'travel guitar' is a bit reductive; it outperforms many full sized ones. It arrived pretty much perfectly set up, just like the advertising videos. I assembled it in under 2 mins, tuned it up, and it was ready to go- fantastic. This wasn't a surprise though- my Pioneer also was perfectly set up out of the box.
The backpack is nice, too, though if you're travelling bear in mind it can't fit a laptop- so make sure you account for a 2nd personal item/ hand baggage. On the whole: sounds great, plays very well, smells awesome, fulfils its stated function with minimal to no compromise. I pick this up and play all the time, even when stuck in the house. I'm very, very curious about the Violet and Blue series now- I just wish Furch shipped internationally for those as well.
3 weeks ago I have had purchased Furch Pioneer EM a. Really fantactic small body travel guitar with unbelievably huge volume and tone as well as great playbility. I had only one partial problem with new Pioneer. Its transparent pickguard has not as smooth surface as typical black or tortoise pickards have and I did not like the noise comming from my fingernails resting/moving on the pickguard when playing. I have sent an email regarding this problem of mine to Furch and Martin from Support Dept advised me installing tortoise pickguard (which is also available for Pioneer models). I have ordered it from Furch e-shop and get it just in 24 hours. Instalation instructions were included so it was pretty easy to instal new pickguard over the transparent one as recommended.
So I have the new smooth tortoise pickguard now which is perfect for my playing style and in the same time I think it looks really great.
Thanks Furch not only for superb guitar but also for excellent customer support.
I bought the Little Jane a year ago, and keep it handy in living room for those moments I need to come up with a tune. I have a Taylor 810e and that is my fav full size, but the Little Jane is a close tie! I travel with it and I'm amazed at how well it stays in tune. The sound that comes out from a little guitar is amazing! I highly recommend!!
