Furch Little Jane Hard case

I still remember quite clearly how, some time ago, I nervously made my way to my hotel through heavy rain, carrying my Little Jane 2020-LC in its original gig bag. Luckily, I had an umbrella with me. So I held the guitar backpack in front of me and used the umbrella to protect it – more than I protected myself. The guitar survived.

Ever since that experience, I always carried an extra rain cover with me. However, it was getting quite annoying. I was also always extra cautious when travelling by train, especially whenever someone wanted to store their luggage right next to my guitar. The padding is good enough, but it lacks that final layer of protection against hard, sharp impacts.

So I reached out to Furch to ask if there was a solution. The answer: A new hard case was already in the works!

As soon as the news arrived by email, I ordered one straight away. And here it is. What a beautiful case!

Furch has definitely chosen the perfect manufacturer for this project. The price is slightly higher compared to other cases from the same brand, but that's something you have to accept for a custom-made solution.

The guitar fits perfectly inside. Several cushions keep everything securely in place, with enough room to absorb any shocks should they occur.

A lot of attention has been paid to the finer details and craftsmanship, such as the additional lock on the back. One thing to keep in mind, of course, is to remember to unlock it when opening the case. As for the lock itself: You can use the keys, but you should be aware that it is not intended to make your guitar truly theft-proof. ;-)

There are a few downsides compared to the gig bag, but they simply come with the territory. There is less storage space inside for books, guitar straps, tools, strings, etc. And, of course, the case is hard, whereas the gig bag offers more padding on the outside.

In return, you get an extremely robust case that looks high-quality, feels high-quality and certainly is.

One little tip when attaching the shoulder straps: RTFM. ;-) There is one correct way to attach the carabiners and several wrong ones. I had to figure that out the hard way before finally taking a look at the illustrated instructions.

So, what's my verdict?

I'm absolutely thrilled. There's really not much you could improve on this fantastic case.

Hats off to Furch!
